Shock, what's the matter?

Have you heard about shock?

Do you a person who always says, “oh no, it makes me shock”, or a kind of.

There is a short version of my article about shock. I did presentation for this paper. It was one of the assignments of my Human Pathophysiology course.

Shock is a manifestation of pathologic condition rather than a disease. I understand that diagnosis and management of shocks are require extensive knowledge and clinical experience. At the beginning, I identified and retrieved my knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology class about how our heart works.

I distinguished the causes that lead to dysfunction of the heart, so I can recognize the clinical manifestations of shock such as thirst and agitation or restlessness; those lead to hypo tension and is followed by the characteristic signs of compensation: cool, moist, pale skin, tachycardia, and oliguria.

Next, based on clinical manifestation, vasoconstriction shunts blood from the viscera and skin to the vital areas. Then the direct effects of a decrease in blood pressure and blood flow become manifest by lethargy, weakness, dizziness, and a weak pulse. I recommend the diagnosis had been done to determine shock: Blood studies, ECG, chest X-ray, hemodynamic monitoring.

The last, I was able to analyze and distinguish for every shock (etiology, process, signs and symptoms, and prognosis). The causes of shock is not merely heart disease but also caused by infection (Septic shock), dehydration and burns (Hypovolemic Shock).

I was able to explain how pain and fear can lead shock (Vasogenic or Neurogenic Shock), and how food, medications, venom, and latex may lead to shock (Anaphylatic shock).

  2. Banyak orang berpendapat salah satu cara menghilangkan shock atau juga trauma ..., kudu berani melawan penyebab rasa shock didirinya.

Misal shock sama ular, harus berani menciba menyentuh badan ular.
    Meski mungkin pingsan setelahnya :D

  4. After knowing that shock is a manifestation of pathologic condition rather than a disease. So it's similar to headache and fever, right?
.....therefore Human Pathophysiology Course is very important in medical school as it relates to the best diagnosis.

  8. In clinical condition, the anaphylactic shock usually comes to allergic reaction that may cause death, and it comes pretty quick.

By the way, the term 'Trauma' in shock IS NOT related to psychological condition, in fact it means 'physical injuries' in medical terminology and it serve some systematic shock. For example, when someone head hits a pole and got hurt, it called trauma. When he got hurt and convulsions, he suffers some traumatic shock.
